Wakamatsu Farm Kite Festival & 148th Anniversary Observance

Kites – Food – Drink – Raffle – Fun

This celebration honors the 148th anniversary of the first Japanese colony in the United States who arrived at Gold Hill on June 8, 1869.  American River Conservancy (ARC) recognizes these early pioneers during its regular Wakamatsu Open Farm Day on Saturday, June 3.

Come watch and participate in the kite festival, where you’ll also find food and beer for purchase, a raffle, and light entertainment.  Bring your own single-lined kite or make a kite to fly at Wakamatsu Farm.  Picnics are welcome and be sure to bring along a chair.  Amenities at Wakamatsu Farm are limited.

Proceeds from this event will be used to care for the historic Keyaki tree planted by the Wakamatsu colonists.

Cost: $10 per car, additional for passenger vans and busses.
