Join us in celebrating as the AMGEN Tour of California visits historic Placerville on Friday, May 18th
The Amgen Tour of California Professional Road Bike Race features 96 women and 125 men, including Olympic medalists and world champions. The race challenges the world’s top professional cycling teams to compete along demanding courses that traverses hundreds of miles of California’s iconic highways, byways and coastlines each spring. This year’s route runs right through Placerville’s downtown core. Placerville’s patriotism and pride will be on display as merchants decorate their windows and open their doors early for race day.

Race Day Details
Road Closures and Traffic Delays
5:00am-12:00pm Main Street to Sacramento Street to Bedford will be closed to automobiles but open to pedestrians and bicycles
As cyclists and emergency services come through, expect delays of about 20 minutes along the route – see AMGEN route map
Expected delays for popular roads:
East Natomas 9:45am – 9:55am
Green Valley Road 9:55am – 10:48am
Placerville Drive 10:48am – 10:55am
9:00am – Slow Bicycle Race – open to all ages – The last one across the finish line wins!
9:30am – Kid’s Bike Parade – decorate their bikes, trikes or unicycles and put them on parade.
10:00am – Free Ride on Main – Hop on your bike and take advantage of the street closure with freestyle pedaling on Main Street.
