71st Annual Highway 50 Wagon Train | June 5, 2020
The annual Highway 50 Wagon Train commemorates the Great Western Migration, as pioneers of all ages make their way from Stateline, Nevada to Placerville, California. On June 5th, the Wagon Train stops in Pollock Pines, where a full day of activities, entertainment, demonstrations, food, and fun takes place.
Activities include a gold panning demonstration, mountain men demonstrations, plus crafters and vintage vendors and live entertainment with the Cash Prophets and Hickory Wind. Guests can enjoy an all-day BBQ steak cookout and beer garden, watermelon, and pie-eating contests; and for kids, there’s face painting, pony rides plus ice cream and more.
The Highway 50 Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to horse and wagon enthusiasts, in particular, the Gold Rush era when families made their way west during the Great Migration. Wagon Train enthusiasts celebrate with historic reenactments, authentic 19th-century dress and reliving the adventures and rigors of the early pioneers as they forged their way west.
