SUMMARY:Open Farm Days
DESCRIPTION:2020 Open Farm Days\nOwned by the American River Conservancy\, Wakamatsu Farm is the site of the first Japanese colony in America. The property is cherished for its cultural history and natural resources.  \nDuring Open Farm Days\, explore the property at your own pace and timing.  Visit Okeisan’s 1871 gravesite.  Tour the Native Plant Garden. See the Graner Farmhouse while enjoying the shade of the 150-year-old Keyaki tree.  Take a trip around the lake on the 1.5-mile trail.  Picnics are welcome.  Docents will be on-site\, ready to share information and answer questions. Open Farm Days are suitable for most ages and capabilities.  Points of interest are mostly outdoors and reached by dirt trail or unpaved road over generally flat terrain. \nAt Wakamatsu Farm\, seasonal produce and pre-orders for pick up are available from FogDog Farm. \nRequested Donation: $10 per vehicle. Buses and large vans are $5 per person. Additional donations are welcome.  To minimize cash handling\, please bring exact change. \nCOVID-19 Requirements: \n\nUp to 50 people can visit the Farm at the same time.\nEl Dorado County Community members are encouraged to attend.\nWhile near others\, visitors are required to wear face masks. We will provide free face masks.\nExceptions to face masks apply to children and visitors who have health conditions that prevent them from wearing face masks. Hard of hearing and Deaf visitors and their companions are not required to wear face masks. Families and people who share the same households are not required to wear masks when only near each other.\nVisitors are required to maintain 6-foot distancing from all others who are not in their households.\nAs long as museums are required to remain closed\, the Graner farmhouse will also remain closed to the public.\nHand sanitizer will be available for visitor use. Bathrooms will be regularly sanitized.\nDocents will help visitors with any other requirements to ensure the health and safety of Farm visitors.\n\nTemperatures over 100 degrees or rain may lead to a cancellation. \nQuestions?  Email briegan@ARConservancy.org
