El Dorado County Has Three Public Parks for Your Enjoyment
Located off the Ponderosa Road, exit Highway 50, this 5-acre park consists of a brand new playground, small sports field, and large covered picnic areas. Originally developed by the Lions Club, the county has actively developed and maintained the site for several years. The park provides a fantastic location for young children, picnics and family gatherings.
The park is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. until dusk. Bradford Park offers a field available for non-regulation soccer and classes. A no charge parking lot and street parking is available. Picnic tables are also available for your enjoyment and are on a first come first serve basis.
Henningsen Lotus Park, Lotus
Located on the South Fork of the American River, the 51-acre park provides a wide variety of active and passive recreation opportunities. In conjunction with the river program, the park offers a boat launch and beach area. Adjacent to the river is an enclosed Pavilion that can host a wide variety of activities, classes, weddings, social events, and fundraisers. Rounding out the facility are two soccer fields and a lighted softball/little league complex that provides year-round youth sports. The park is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. until dusk.
Pioneer Park, Somerset
Located in beautiful southern El Dorado County, the 21-acre park provides a full-size equestrian arena that hosts a wide variety of activities, horse shows, and livestock events. A recently completed community center offers meeting rooms and a kitchen/snack bar that serves many of the community’s needs. The facility also contains a combination soccer/ baseball field as well as a Frisbee golf course. The park is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. until dusk, and the community center is open until 10 p.m. Pioneer Park offers two paved parking lots for your convenience. Parking is no charge. Picnic tables are also available for your enjoyment.
