The El Dorado Stay & Play Shuttle
The program provides funding for transportation from one or more El Dorado County lodging properties to regional wedding and event venues. The level of funding is based on the number of rooms nights booked.
- 20 room nights = $500 contribution to shuttle cost
- 30 room nights = $750 contribution to shuttle cost
- 40 room nights = $1000 max contribution to shuttle cost
Welcome kits include El Dorado County Visitors & Farm Trails Guide, discounts and incentives for El Dorado County businesses, materials highlighting the El Dorado Wine Country, Apple Hill Growers, things to do in the communities of Coloma, Fair Play, and Divide, information on rideshare options, emissions, and other small gifts.
The El Dorado Stay and Play Shuttle is funded by a grant from the El Dorado County Air Quality Management District. The El Dorado County Visitors Authority designed the program to encourage group transportation and overnight stays in El Dorado County, reduce motor vehicle emissions, and introduce new visitors to the area. What’s a Welcome Kit?
The El Dorado County Visitors Authority and its partners provide a bag with useful visitor information, discounts, and incentives for this visit or future visits, transportation information, and a small gift for each room booked through this program. A lodging representative will present the welcome kit to the guest upon check-in.
Can I use more than one lodging to qualify for the program?
Yes, as long as all lodging is located in El Dorado County.
Can I use rooms in a private residence to qualify for the program?
No, it must be a licensed commercial lodging property in good standing with the applicable county, state & federal agencies.
Can I use another limousine service?
Yes, you can, but certain restrictions apply. Prior approval is required at least 30 days in advance. To be considered for this program, transportation companies must provide a copy of the business license, a copy of liability insurance with El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce named as additionally insured, and the make and model of the vehicle being used at least 30 days in advance of the event. All vehicles used must transport at least 20 passengers. Transportation providers must agree to report the number of riders, number of miles, and total transportation cost that includes client contribution and stay and play contribution within 10 days of the event. Do Vacation Rentals/Airbnb/ VRBO qualify for the program?
Yes, as long as they are licensed commercial lodging properties in good standing with the applicable county, state & federal agencies. Qualified Vacation Rentals/Airbnb/VRBO are counted as one room per night regardless of the number of bedrooms. Here are some preapproved Bed & Breakfast Inns and Vacation Rentals for your convenience.
