This popular fishing location in Eldorado National Forest, approximately 11 miles off Highway 50, also features camping, hiking, jet skiing, and fishing. 

Lovers Leap

An iconic granite cliff band outside of Strawberry that’s a mecca for climbers. Hikers and bikers can enjoy the trails around it that boast terrific views of Horsetail Falls and Desolation Wilderness.

Wright’s Lake

A beautiful lake on the western edge of Desolation Wilderness, it’s a great spot for non-motorized boating like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, and swimming. With several trailheads and campgrounds around the lake, it’s a terrific launch pad for hiking, wildflower spotting, and backpacking.
