Our ghost walks will give you a vivid history of haunted, historic Placerville a.k.a “old Hangtown”. We will share with you, through extensive research, the history as well as the haunted myths, lore, and legends. Oh, but our ghost hunts?
We will engage with our visitors in a real paranormal investigation using some of the latest equipment. What are we looking for? With your help, we will search for the fantastic, not the fantasy.
You see, the paranormal evidence that we will gather has a history. The spirits that live throughout the Gold Country, the Mother Lode and beyond have a grand history. We want to hear and tell the stories of days long gone by and learn of the people who lived them. Those people have names. They have stories. Our mission is to seek, not only paranormal evidence, but to find the stories and document them. Book your Haunted Hangtown Ghost Tour today!

More than twenty years ago, David Girard looked out at the stunning landscape rising 1400′ from the South Fork American River Valley and saw not only beauty but also great potential. In the heart of Gold Country — indeed, one mile from where gold was first discovered in 1848 — he envisioned an estate vineyard producing grapes of great distinction. David Girard Vineyards thrives by serving meticulously crafted wines in a gorgeous, historical setting on 85 total acres. The winery is renowned in the region and beyond for providing a serene, pleasurable destination for both its dedicated followers as well as first-time guests.
Enjoy a guided ATV tour of our organically farmed hillside vineyards and the winemaking facility. You’ll learn about the history, the connection to the Gold Rush, how the grapes are grown and the wine is made. Upon return, a private wine and cheese pairing awaits you. You will learn how the flavors of the cheese enhance the nuances of the wine, and how to select what cheese to go with what varietals. Book your Tour by calling the Tasting Room at 530.295.1833 or emailing David Girard Vineyards Tours are limited to eight people.
