Sierra at Tahoe has been rated the best ski resort for beginners, so if you’re looking to take the whole family out for a new activity, Sierra is the way to go. They have four beginner only conveyor lifts, four kid’s adventure zones, and a completely unique ski academy: The Burton Star Wars Experience. Here younglings (3-6) and padawans (7-12) learn the ways of the force, defeat the dark side, and conquer skiing, all among custom wood carvings of R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca, and more. Sierra is also the closest ski resort on Highway 50E coming from Sacramento. And even though it is the top-rated South Shore Ski Resort for beginners, it is also very well known for its terrain parks. Sierra at Tahoe got into Transworld Snowboarding as a top 10 overall resort as well as in the top 10 best parks and pipes in the nation.
