Empress Clothing in Placerville, CA

Empress Clothing

594 Main St

This eclectic shop has been a staple on Upper Main Street for over 20 years. The building that houses Empress, however, has been there since 1859. If the rock exterior and rich history don’t draw you in, the smell of incense wafting from inside might.

The shop is absolutely captivating, with its walls and even ceiling covered in vintage finds, handcrafted delights, bohemian clothing and fabrics, gifts, belly dancing clothes, incense and oils, jewelry, and journals, and that’s not all. Empress is the kind of shop where you could spend hours exploring every little nook and cranny. Owner Carolina Williams has put her heart and soul into this shop, and you can tell. This is a Main Street must-see if you are in Placerville.

Gifts & Wishes
617 Main St

Be sure to stop by this brand-new shop on the east end of Main Street near the Independent Restaurant. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you. Inside, you will find a fun, casually sophisticated boutique with great prices on apparel, new and refinished furniture, home décor, jewelry, and more. Deana Ramisch, the shop owner, has a great passion for transforming otherwise neglected cast-offs into absolute treasures. This new shop provides an environment where she and other local artists can show off their creations.
