Have you heard about the scavenger hunt on Main Street?

There are 10 Miner medallions hidden throughout Main Street Placerville from Sacramento Street to Clay Street. These Miners all had an impact on Placerville and El Dorado County during the Gold Rush period. Each miner has a QR code on the medallion that will take you to a webpage about the miners when scanned with your phone camera. So grab your phone and begin your hunt!

Banners on Parade 2022

In 2022, we have a total of 27 banners displayed on Main Street during Placerville Art on Parade’s 18th year. Of the images shown here, the first 3 were judged 1, 2, and 3 (Peony, Making Summer Memories, It’s Why We Live Here), and the next 3 were judged as Honorable Mentions (Sierra Seasons, Flowers of Hope, Spring Awaits).

If you’d like to walk around and see the banners, grab one of the “walking-tour” brochures at businesses on Main Street or online, open the brochure’s front panel to see the banner “Peony” in the upper-left corner. That banner is located at the corner of Main and Sacramento Streets. Walk east to see the next banner, “Making Summer Memories”, near the business Vibes Up. Continue to Cedar Ravine Street viewing the banners as you go—they correspond to what is in the brochure. Cross Main Street and walk west to Sacramento Street to view the banners on the north side of Main Street. When you get to Sacramento Street, walk “up” Sacramento Street to right across from the Post Office where you will see the final banner, “Cat”.

If you find a banner you really like, how about ordering a memento in the form of one of our Keepsakes? You can download the order form here (coming soon!). The order form is also available in the brochure.
We have had 473 wonderful banners on our Main Street over the last 16 years. Our main sponsor again this year is Images of Hope, and their logo is on the back of the banner, along with their two major events each year—Garden Party in the Orchard in June and Pink in the Night in October.

Thank you to Images of Hope and all our other very generous sponsors: Gold Country Artists Gallery, ECO Signs & Lighting Maintenance, Geoff Boyd Memorial Artist Award, Marianne Kalem Legacy Award, El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce, and Placerville Flowers on Main.
